Does the democratic crisis in Taiwan matter to Asia-Pacific studies? How can an unrecognized country defend its sovereignty under present international order? The presenter, an oversea Taiwanese student who participated in the movement, will share about her personal experience in organizing actions overseas. By viewing the sequences of grassroots movements, the meeting will be a brainstorming session covering topics of political ecology, academia and gender issues. Could the Sunflower Movement raise public political awareness and trigger a wave of social innovation in Asia?
