「歴史の真実を探求する学者有志の会」が日本記者クラブで記者会見
「日本人の歴史家と連帯する」と題するする１９人（後に２０人に）のアメリカ歴史家の声明が、２０１５年３月、アメリカ歴学会（AHA）の月刊機関誌『パースペクティヴズ・オン・ヒストリー』(Perspectives on History) に掲載されました。この声明は、日本政府が米国マグロウ・ヒル社の歴史教科書に重大な誤りがあるとして訂正要請を行ったことを批判する内容になっています。今回この声明に対してかなり時間はたちましたが、有志学者が絶対見過ごすことのできないものである、として反論を行ったものです。

Japanese Scholars’ Rebuttal to the American Scholar’s
Comfort Women Statement
The March 2015 issue of Perspectives on History, a monthly bulletin published by the AHA (American Historical Association), carried “Standing with Historians of Japan,” a statement signed by 19 American historians (another signature was added later, for a total of 20). The statement condemns the Japanese government for indicating that accounts pertaining to Japanese history in McGraw-Hill textbooks contain serious errors, and requesting that those errors be corrected.
At a press conference held at Japan National Press Club in Tokyo on 4th September, 2019, a rebuttal was presented by three Japanese historians, Prof. ITO Takashi, University of Tokyo, Prof. TANAK Hidemichi, Tohoku University, Prof. YAMASHITA Eiji, Osaka City University, representing the 50 Japanese academics.
